At that time,the Nepalese were slowly increasing in Mumbai; their problems were soaring in geometric fold. These problems were never addressed properly. The feeling of having an organization with an aim to uplift the Nepalese socio-cultural views and social tint was considered as a need of the hour. Thus in 1977 an efforts were carried out for having a common Nepali organization with a unified platform.
In series of these efforts, on the auspicious day of vijayadasami of 21st October, 1977 Sanyukta Nepali Mahasangh Mumbai was founded with lots of efforts. It was subsequently registered with the charity commissioner of Mumbai as a social organization working for the benefit of the immigrating Nepalese.
Sanyukta Nepali Mahasangh is a pure social organization holding its work in the field of serving migrant Nepalese in Mumbai for more than three decades. Its membership is free to all irrespective of caste, creed, sex, race, profession and ideology. Its arena of activity ranges from spiritual, religious, community health, education, sports, culture, medical and field of intellectuals. Its activity revolves around creating awareness. The chain of help to needy poor, downtrodden in the form of direct help or through timely assistance, guidance and extending helping hand. The mahasangh propagate ideology based on scientific values holding colors of equity, fraternity, social justice and development of a community as a whole. It provides round o’clock services through its annual plan and well defined strategies.
Mahasangh aims to provide creative work with global tinge to Nepalese culture, language and upliftment of community as a whole. Its works aims to create a favorable base for global peace, world fraternity and long live Indo-Nepal friendship forever. Its activity and social works restricts the blind faith, religious bigotry, racial divide in the community at large. These aspects are executed considering the social service as its prime tool for mahasanghs works."
